Actually I was referring to The Dad's previous behavior about MC accepting the sketchy man's "invitation" to have a social debut.
And like @KrimzonHawka I suspected that the Dad invited le snak over to "help" MC. Just my speculations but her father seems to be the vehicle that introduces her to these bad people imo. The mom trusts her daughter and isn't going out looking for trouble like the Dad is.
