@Nurarihyon Likely that MC is going to use the skills/knowledge she learned from her previous life to slowly but surely destroy the Duke and his faction from within. She did say she wanted to get revenge on them, and it's not going to happen if she rejects Leabric.

Plus it's likely Leabric would've killed MC and her parents had she said no, to prevent likelihood of talk escaping re. the Duke's plans.

I think it makes sense to some extent to act almost the same as before if she were to get revenge. She did end up saving her parents by creating an escape route this time, but I think she wants to make sure that the people plotting against her underestimate her before she actually begins acting differently from her previous life. It will come in future chapters!! I looked at the raws and it seems that she's changing things here and there, just enough to inconvenience their lives but also covering her ass so that they underestimate her. If they were to take her seriously, she could be putting her life in danger prematurely, before being able to retaliate properly

@Nurarihyon But they are too determined to have her, so there is nothing she can do, really.
Yeah, she rejected the sponsorship for the ball, but then was offered a concubine position. She could try reject it too, but the blue lady would have found another way, since she is the one behind it all. That woman was ready to kill her parents, so she could create a situation were her parents are killed by bandits, but she shows up in the last minute with a heavenly proposition.
In general, if she tried to reject, Elena could make things worse for herself and family.
Also, this is all for revenge, because she wants to make sure they suffer like she did in the past, when she fell right into their hands. She is determined to do it all again, but in a way to trick them, rather then be tricked back.
