Yeah, I kinda don't like this. It feels like it's departing from the original feel of the series.

It was just one pannel. I doubt the tones gonna change too much, especially since the main characters are the dolls. Also this series is giving me some hunter x hunter vibes, and that series does a decent job of shifting the tone of the story back and forth.

I don’t think it’ll change too much, I’ve read the author other works and her style is ultimately “mystery fantasy”. Considering the fantasy bit she tends to include moments and arcs that have some action but generally it never leaves the realm of fantasy and fairytale.

So I doubt it will go into battle shounen territory. There will be moments of action to heighten the tension of the mystery, but ultimately this is a mystery manga, so as long as you treat it as so, there’ll be no problem.

Oh my god, I can't believe how much I fell in love with John thanks to the past few chapters. He's funny and cute and great. He's best boy, that's for sure. The last page is the best, especially with Ricky and Shaun holding hands in shock. So cute!
