Umm... How to read this chapter? I feel like the story are not connected, well it's worse than any other chapter so far.

So the evil lady got sick, and our heroine overcharged her for the medicine, and then stole said medicine back? At least that's the only sense I can make of it.

@LeeNyx Yeah, that's what I got, except I didn't understand guards reporting to her dad, like eh? And why would evil step-mum need the "blood stopping" medicine, anyway? From the beating? In that case, what about the internal medicines? I agree with the other posters, this chapter was as disjoint as it could be.

To all those who are confused about this chapter, let me tell you something,
I'M JUST AS CONFUSED AS YOU!
The exposition of the story has gotten worse than before and there is nothing we can do about it :(
It's becasue the manhua leaves out a lot of things from the novel thus making the story confusing
for those who are confused here is a summary of this scene from the novel:
Chen Shi's brother is trying to save his sister by buying medicine from Yuheng's store, where not only is he charged an extremely high amount of silver but later, when he is trying to send someone to deliver the meds to his sister Yuheng actually goes to her court yard to steal it again, just to sell it back to them. By then Chen Shi is so sick that her organs are shutting down and dies for the loss of medical attention and the beating she got from her husband's hidden guards.

This is best read with the original novel. In the novel Heng Heng never spoke to Chen Shi while retrieving the pills from her. She stayed in the courtyard and fought while she had her servant get the pills. She also dilliberately did so so that her father would know the extent of her skills.
The story is just going to keep getting messier and messier from here on out. I guess the way its written is meant to arouse you into reading the novel.
