@comeonnow0 I'm sorry, but that reason fails to make sense as the other two guys there are knights... For that to be reason to disqualify someone, I'd expect those two to take battle formation before the coin was tossed and started attacking when the coin landed...

@Bramia Their battle-prowess has presumably been tested and verified before coming here. They likely took the required training and passed the required tests.

Yes, they completely failed here. No doubt about that. Maybe they'll get scolded and told to take more training as a result. Maybe they'll be kicked out of the knights as a result. I have no idea. Maybe "Jeremias" (horrible name; I hate a lot of the names in this) will cut them slack since they thought they were fighting this weak, young girl. I completely admit that this is all speculation, but it's within the realm of reason.

However, it's also true that combat with magic is fundamentally different than physical combat. Jeremias takes that into account in making his decision, as he explained.

all of you defending the knight captain must have wanted the girl to go all with intent to kill everything in the surrounding 5 m then, right? Can't be too prepared for unexpected experiences in "real war," right? Like the knight captain, the girl should have just ignored the rules of the test and gone for the kill. She shouldn't have even tried to restrain the knights, but fireballed the shit out of them. Cause, in a battle, not double-tapping can lead to death. Right? 🤣

I can understand his behavior basically saying that on a real battlefield never let your guard down because someone like him could come up on you and you'd be dead in an instant.

@dachht like, frickin seriously. Battles also don’t begin with coin tosses or a set of rules either. If she was actually smart she would’ve meteor’d them as soon as they started talking to her man.

The purpose of the original test was to test her "movements". I Assume that was her reflexes and style of fighting. By incapacitating her opponents immediately, she ended the spar too quickly to get enough meaningful information (or at least the kind of info the captain was looking for). So the test was inconclusive. Whenever the test itself fails, you start over with a new/different one. I assume that he is either acting for a life or death, against an overly strong opponent, kind of test now. Or he has actuality already made his judgement that she is inexperienced in real combat/ naive/ careless. I personally don't like the latter cus it is prejudice and something that all knights train for when they join, and not an actual reason to turn her away.

Either way, I am on the side that says she will eventually join, for whatever reason, cus the plot/drama demands it.

I mean, he has a point, if you do it like that then there's no point to the "examination", coupled with the issue of being a magic user in a physical user army. Idk if it's smart of her to just chase MC.

The cliffhanger made him looks like a villain, but he is actually a nice guy. He is just having problems expressing his intention.

The position of the knight is not some ordinary soldier. They would be career soldiers who are either nobility or working under a nobility. A random villager girl comes up to probably a person of high standing and asks to be a part of their army that was chosen and trained beforehand. If he was not a nice guy he would have killed her for approaching him with/without an announcement or worse. It would be like any of us walking into a military base and going "you should recruit me into a higher command position cause I have skills(which it is not like she is the only person who can do magic in that world.) and expect not to be shot or arrested.

Also, the two knights are confused about why they are in a situation where they are "fighting" some random girl with sticks. "Flash" happens and they are tied up. They are not in a state of panic or combat, just "what?".
