Not a surprisong development, but this chick needs to be put under Tvtropes morality pet and plot device categories, because she everything about here character revolves around the other 2. Shes pretty much just a plot device and the only way i can see her getting actual developmemt is if she somehow becomes very self aware of whats going on around her and begins losing it. I think the idea of her becoming a new Shigahime is cool and has potential for some interesting conflict if done right.

Who am I supposed to cheer on?
that's the point of twisted or edgy manga done better. it is not supposed to be clean-cut, it is supposed to be so dirty that is hard to tell who is the least crap. And this one is doing very well! Everybody got a good motive, and is acting acordingly, the worst people still are the blood race, and everybody is suffering such horrible lives because of them.

Chika was a true Miko from Devilman, that pure-hearted yet fallable human being that contrasts so strongly with the rest of the cast, that is some good soap opera drama. If she was just a normal or petty person, than the pathos of the story wouldn't have reached this point and it would all feel like pure cynicism, which horror stories often do feel, and is very commonplace.
