I've read a lot of stories with slime pets, slime MCs, and slime henchmen, but the best slime in the biz is in Monster no Goshujin-sama. He actually gets to fuck that slime, which takes the form of a girl from his class that died and the slime ate. It received all of her memories and could morph in to her shape. Now, that's the kind of slime you want as your ally... no, waifu.

I learned from Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi that having a Fenrir & a Slime as your familiars are the best type of companionship, if not an oddity in itself. You need to take care of them as well as they assisting you in your battles & daily living lol. If it's me in this MC's shoe, I'd want to try to tame all kinds of powerful magical monsters to help preserve their species, so other intelligent beings won't hunt them down to extinction for the sake of levelling up or profiting off of the raw materials. Especially when I will be able to find unique & rare species or so. It's not merely being a zookeeper, but a peace-tamer & environmentalist of sorts haha. Just like being a Sage who protects mother nature & her inhabitants.

He's done with magic & swordsmanship, so now he can focus on being the ultimate tamer, because why not, aye? What else is there in this line of skill in Isekaidom? Learning to be human again & finding true companionship, or learning to be the ultimate being that surpasses humanity (which this guy had been doing two times in a row by now)? Harem is another matter though & I hate that trope as it coddles & sympathises with us wizards & witches lol I don't need that unattainable dream & it's a cheap & repetitive plot. So, I'm glad this one isn't shallow & have Harem in it.

For those of you who are already fed up with Slimes & taming plotline in Isekai, just go read something else. Or broaden your Isekai library, or take a break from it. I'm rather new to this & not fed up yet, so I bookmark everything including Josei, Seinen, Shoujo & even Yaoi Isekai titles, if not in Cooking, Magic, Reincarnation, Gore, Monsters or Monster Girls. Experiment with the tagging system in your search for other Isekai titles so you'd get more high-quality & otherworldly gems in MangaDex, like the classic GATE, for example.

Slimes sure are friendly in isekai series.
It is almost as though Dragon Quest were the only JRPG series out there. Plenty of people over here westwards only think of Final Fantasy, which hasn't been actual traditional fantasy for a long time. I'm more of a Tales fan, personally, though it was mostly Tales of Vesperia that did it for me.
