well now, I guess revealing them too early just lead to an earlier attack

Matty's stronger than the humans generally are now but he's still probably much weaker than humans probably were when they fought the demons in his previous life. Looks like the demons are in a pretty sorry state themselves. Maybe enough that humanity could just throw superior numbers at them to win if given half an opportunity to prepare, so attacking now is about the best they could do I suppose. Hit 'em before they gather their military power and that of any allies they have.

Well, they actually could just had run away, their disappering doesn't mean they are preparing an attack. If they got só close to extinction going to all outros war with humans again wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. Since they are só into human territories and all they could just change their illusions Just to keep living.

what would've happened if after thousands of years, this society accepted demons and mc just murdered a normal citizen 👽 i guess he would've known by then after living in that world for 12 years. but then again, mc seems really oblivious about what's normal and current events

Serious, why can't them just try to live side by side, without killing everything that looks different ?

@Shakur Exactly. Stating the demons must be preparing for war just because a few of them disappeared, after their infiltration got exposed, is the mother of all overanalysing. The most plausible answer would indeed be that they suspect the MC can sense them, seeing how that match went, so the rest of the demons hiding in the capital wouldn't want to stick around. Naturally there would need to be some reason for caution, assuming the demons do hate humans and want to crush them. But that's not something that would change because of a single incident, nor does a single incident magically make the demons more or less ready for an open invasion.

Spreading false information doesn't make the true information go away. It's incredibly difficult to "remove" knowledge from the public mind. This whole premise is annoying. I would have preferred it if MC just want to the past or a different world all together.
