I believe the reason, the demons hate the humans is simply, their females are envious. Chronic flatchest-syndrome in the adult ones. But there is no need! If they are cute and the rest of their bodies are in that good shape, everything is A O K. They are still delicious. The problem lies in their personalities though.

To all, that wanted to sex the demon ladies, remember. She wouldn't wait a second to rip off you dick and gut you out/gut you out and squash your ovaries. No sexy time.

They have no empathy at all. Even if their comrades fall, no signs of friendship. Looks like they only function as biological war-machines. High magical abilities, high intellect, highly aggressive and a strong will to survive. My guess is, they only mate to increase numbers, if they mate at all and aren't born from tubes. My guess is on they are a failed experiment or weapon thousands of years ago.

Attractive female or not. You can dream about white knighting then or sparing them, but nothing will realistically happen. Qelix has it right. There’s a subspecies of Demons that works together because they are individually weaker, but iirc, they’re still Demons(antagonists) the author does not intend for you to have any empathy for.

Enemy appears > attractive female is in enemy force> everyone gets "defeated" except attractive female > attractive female becomes part of harem. That how most of those go, think that was also why many cried so much as that adventurer girl got done in in overlord by miss paddbreasts.

On a separate note, it's a mildly pleasant surprise to see a fight where both sides use actual tactics. Simple ones, and rather self-destructive ones on the side of the demons, but tactics nonetheless.

they were nearly wiped out by people like matty so they decide to go into hiding and weaken the humans with things like their propaganda of the 1st type (crafting type) being the strongest fighters and getting rid of useful knowledge like chantless magic over a very long period of time.

If any of you ever make a game remember to include peaceful options to avoid killing things you want to live. Poke balls are preferable but letting them run or not fighting also works. Too many bunnies in rpgs have fallen to my blade. Mandatory bunny killing quests are not cool.

@bakasaru TBF, their Magic God Gaias (Matty's former identity) was considered to be the strongest Mage in his time, despite him only having the Crafting Crest. Gaias' standards should have been way way way above the standard, which is why his crafted weapons became holy weapons in the eyes of other people, and couple that with the fact that he's basically a loner (according to his flashbacks) his few friends not being Research Addicts, so he assumed that whatever he can do, other mages could also do it.

IMO, its little less propaganda and more of his own reputation affecting the development of magic after magic nearly wiped-out the world.
