At this point, I wonder if the king and headmaster are making it a game of breaking people's common sense with Mattius. I could easily picture them snickering at poor Eiku at this point.
And a couple months from now...
"W-Wh...what the hell...!?"
Eiku: First time, eh?
Seeing Matthias being held hostage is like seeing a rabbit trying to be aggressive against a bear, it's too funny.
Especially if it is the most dangerous of the group.
... @Ovdose :
dunno how other isekai can do that ...
speaking realistically, if you blast the floor there's high chance the entire structure can collapse down ...
and the thicker the floor, the higher power to smash, and the higher chance to cause the structure to collapse ...
@Psychronia : The bad thing is their skill level has regressed so much, even the normal students should generate that kind of reaction when they leave the capital.
All their societies biases and false "knowledge" combined with a slow flow of information mean that chantless casting ,andthe strength gained from it, have not really spread out from the capital yet, and will probably take years, even though the basics are simple enough that they should have been able to spread it through the nation by now, or at least knowledge that a MAJOR discovery has been made that changes everything. But it has not, otherwise Mathias's name and feats would be known before he arrived in town, and no one would think he is weak enough to try to abduct.
When Mathias runs into his family again on his way to a mission for the king, he is surprised that the battle reports (they are in the middle of a border "invasion") place the middle brother (his name is not worth remembering) in the top 10 or so performers (Father and oldest brother were in the top 2 or 3 though) as no one there had undergone any training for proper use other than his eldest brother, and the middle brother was still being an arrogant prick treating Mathias as worthless (Mathias had been given a noble rank ABOVE their fathers for the "mission"
Mathias agreed to a temporary title, but the king had worded the peerage with an end condition that will never occur
, making it even worse was that their father and Lake (???) had heard of some of his accomplishments)
