It's incredibly break neck and the budget isn't all there, but seeing the story between Red and Lit is good enough for me. They also shuffle some things around which is interesting, but isn't crazy. Please look forward to Ruti's development as a character however.
that's what pissed me off about her even a couple of chapters ago "yeah don't worry i don't plan to live with the moral weight of being a prick in the hands if a prick god, ill just kill myself afterwards or be killed by you lol"
If you two think she's bad, just wait until next hero appears, at least Theodora logic isn't completely without merit, she just don't realize the real implications behind the system, but the next hero is full-on insane zealot.
Lots of strategically cut garments this chapter, Theodora especially has a nice figure... prime muscle mommy right there, for a former villain, Albel has great taste
The fact that the hero didn't actually need her party really makes a mockery of the concept of even having a hero party. The Hero's Blessing is basically just hijacking her body to do what it's programmed to do, and Ruti is nothing more than a puppet for it.
It should probably go without saying at this point, but I'd say their entire world as set up by Demis is fucked up for supernaturally forcing two peoples (humanoids and demons) into eternal war. Having the hero and demon king fight is no solution, it's perpetuation of the cycle. So now if the Hero can quit, then maybe even the Demon King can, too.
Too bad we don't know how things are going on the demons' side. But if they really were serious about wiping out humanity, they could've taken full advantage of Ruti being away in some backwater town at the edge of the world fighting her own party, and yet they have not. The front line seems to be holding up because maybe even the demon king is trying to resist his/her predetermined fate.
Originally, I'd say it might be good to find a way to pass blessings to others, but even that is only a band-aid solution and the perpetual cycle of violence will continue. The real solution is for everyone to find a way to quit the compulsions of the cursed Blessing system. Just as Red and Rit says, the true meaning of being a hero isn't through carrying the Hero's blessing, but by possessing a genuine will to save the world.
Now I'm really feeling that JRPG cliche where it always boils down to having to fight the (evil) god in the end... I can only see Demis as evil now from this twisted state of affairs.
I like that Theodora learned something here too. She realized her own desire isn't to be a Crusader like her blessing dictates, but to be a Guide for aspiring Heroes. Now that Ruti's quitting being a Hero, she too is effectively quitting being a Crusader to pursue her actual passion in life: train Heroes. Fate's Scáthach would be proud. She's a fellow spear mommy too.
But anyway, getting to see Ruti finally express real emotions is really heartwarming. It's touching to see someone previously forced to be a figurative battle robot be able to express things we take for granted. Knowing the manga ends at Ch. 72, this means we likely won't be getting into S2 anime territory and also probably not show what the anime apparently skipped to get there (I'm not a novel reader but people say the S2 anime skipped an entire arc). I was looking forward to seeing what was skipped, but oh well.
