Maou was translated in Satan because back then everything was translated, terms like big brothers that we all know is onii-san at the time were always in english.
Satan was used as the closest in meaning of the word maou for westerners.
The story is good, ligh and heavy moments, and th art style is on the upper tier of quality, it surpasses several isekai today and it was more than decent at the time.
I know it looks like I'm saying that the age it was made is the reason for several things that are not seen as well today, but is exactly the case, not everything age like Cowboy Bebop.
The manga wasn't truly axed, just unlucky as fuck, the magazine it was on go t cancelled and they moved it on another, my guess is that most manga in the bundle got moved and readers of the new magazine didnt have the time to understand how good it was, it was even young as story and lacking loyal readers.
The problem is that the authors instead of trying again throwed it away...normally in this kind of cases Japan makes novels of the story, nowadays they could even continue it in a only online format.
Possibly the 4 mini web videos were a way to check the popularity and it wasn't enough.
Should have just rebooted or continued it.
As I said, is a unlucky story.
