Why keep "otou-sama" and not just "dad"?
I never understood this part of scanlation: You will translate everything but will keep "ka-san", "one-chan" or "ni-san", it doesn't make sense. Some people will say "but they're honorifics and the 'sama' or 'chan' will show the type of relationship the Character A has with character B" yeah but I would also know what type of relation a son/daughter got with their parents if they just say "father" or "dad"

If the sister said "father would come have dinner with us, and sometimes other tohno relatives too" It would pretty clear what type of relation she has with her dad.
