Having said that, Olivia it's also that girl killing fully armored soldiers while trusting her cursed sword through the plates so... Don't take my word for it.

@Nep She killed them before they could fire their bows. She is still ultimately human, if she gets hit by an arrow through the heart she dies. We the audience have also seen that she is able to deal with arrows flying at her before, the reason she couldn't just cut them down this time though is there were too many for her to handle at once, thus instead she had to kill the archers before they fired. The stakes from the crossbow are built on a few foundations- 1. Since it's a new invention Olivia has not been given any training dealing with these before and may not properly recognize/estimate it being a threat, 2. The most likely thing for her to compare it to is a bow which has arrows that move a lot slower in comparison, so even if she does recognize it as a threat her expectations may lead her to underestimating it and thus not being ready to cut it down or deflect it in time (if she even has the reflexes to do so in the first place), 3. With it's extra power it can pierce her armor meaning that her armor does not keep her safe from it. While her training and expertise means that she will not ever die as easily as a normal human, she in theory could be killed by a random grunt that got a lucky shot on her (plot armor aside).
