I love when anthologies just reveal how bad an author is at writing.
Props to the translators for even translating the garbage instead of skipping them like what happens with some anthologies.

Hm, plot was a little messy, I’m sure yuri fans are bawling at the yuri bait, but I guess I’d give it a 6/10 just because it’s nice that the fiancee isn’t actually a dick here which is really common

nah. I see her as a tranny. He's perfectly happy in both genders as long as she gets to be with his Saint.
Feels like this story is more like part of interview for a publication firm. Like, the author is saying, "I want to flesh this out into a series but I'm limited to completing the plot in oneshot."

This might’ve been better as a full manga with volumes, not a one-shot. Oh well.

at least it's not as bad as that first one from the villainess anthology

I'm beginning to suspect the reason these stories feel a bit weaker than the villainess ones is they actually have to spend at least a little bit of plot time setting up and rationalizing the time travel, leaving that much less time for actual story :thonk:

I actually really like the idea behind this one, but the execution here was a bit messy TBH.

I am left with two massive questions.

1. How did the prince-disguised-as-a-lady "show signs of [saintess] power"? Can magic be used to mimic saintess powers, even though they are explicitly two completely different things, and even fool an ancient demons?
2. What do you mean "Royal blood is the sole key that can interfere with the Saint's power"? The royal family has anti-saint blood!?! Is their blood literally unholy?!?

Had to reread the chapter again because the prince's bratty saintess act was absolutely perfect in both appearance and behavior. Just funny to think about in hindsight.

It's "finacé." Aster is a man.

"Fiancée" is specifically an engaged female. If the engaged person's sex/gender is male or unknown the term is always "fiancé." (Unless you want to go with the native English substantive use of "betrothed," so "her betrothed" or "his betrothed.")

The word "fiancé/e" is taken directly from French with no changes, so the original French rules apply here. And in French, as with many European languages, the masculine doubles as the indefinate unless otherwise stated.

As for the yuri bait thing, as a (mild) fan of GL, that's kind of…

I mean, they were rivals, and until the reveal the only impression on the protagnoist's end was "Just leave me alone already, you exhasperating annoyance!"

That's not yuri bait unless any pair of girls interacting closely is "yuri." That all too common disease of all-close-relationships-can-only-be-sexual-or-romantic-itis… on girl-on-girl-is-hot and homo-is-better-than-hetero steriods.
