I think the reason I feel this arc is kind of boring/stupid is because of the MC & queen & co's lack of real effort put into dealing with the mermaid blood at the school (even now, the MC barely mentions it) and the blood being the linchpin of the entire plot of the arc (never even brought up the danger of letting the crown prince go in to get drugged and brainwashed). The MC shifted to concentrating on the the politics side of things (Richard, the bad uncle) and kind of just let all the blood stuff happen without any kind of real concerted effort to find out what was going on. Mostly leaving to the girls to look at boobs in the bath (nice of course, but needed actual follow up from the MC side). It degrades the tension of the arc and makes it feel unnecessarily stretched. If they'd connected things more with Kai trying to get back to dealing with the blood but often being interrupted by politic manuvering (like when the uncle dropped bye right after the shipment was found... but then for some reason, nobody followed up with the school before the rebellion), it would've felt like the 'good' guys attempts to stop this takeover were failing to plotting rather than just because they aren't putting much effort into it.
