I can't see what happens in this chapter as anything else than asspull after asspull. If you know how to create a regenerative super-golem, why settle for the smaller ones which could be destroyed with enough firepower? And why use golems at all if you know how to awaken the fortress' superweapon?

they know it's there, mostly, but they don't know how to use it OR awaken it; and doing so wrongly would prove dangerous. Dharna probably does by sending spies, raiding ancient sites of lore before destroying them to monopolize the knowledge and getting their hands into any and all pieces of interesting magic they are aware. And as long as they futher their imperialistic agenda, they have zero qualms about the consequences.

I think they said magic is dependant of old gods that are no longer worshipped, they have unwieldy requirements and technology can do mostly the same without the drawbacks. Remember that the pricesses' fruits are highest-end magic and related to their bloodlines; so it's not like anyone can use it. And a "simple" pistol of Dharna Commander Fascist Asshat can wound and maybe kill Kai in this form.

@Dr_Harnsaft cause only a few exist and mostly in a form of lost technology and thus can’t be recreated or massed produced cause technically the gods are the once who made them anyway.

there’s also no magician in the world except for girls that has nectar and those that suck their boobs and I guess some animal demi-humans has transformation magic but seems like not all of them has it or has it to be useful enough. (Hmmmmmm is the evil doctor a nectar holder too 🤔 I mean she knows magic could be one of the princess of a destroyed kingdom or something) tbh like 99% of magic users are female(natural magic and not using magic tools well majority of magic tools which anyone can use) in the manga except for that dog dude that transformed into a dog so he won’t die during his assassination attempt the only one that didn’t have nectar among them is the jaguar slave girl I guess it’s unknown if ice girl has a nectar but I believe she is one too.

Tbh the real question is why the fk did the gods left their world.
