Some people want their first to be special, not just bent over the dresser.

It wouldn't be their first time, they've already had a pregnancy scare (with a condom too), and going to a hotel (be that a love hotel or not) seems more common in Japan, possibly indeed because walls do be thin over there, as someone else said.

This is so fucking dumb. Is the author a fucking virgin or something? A healthy couple doesn't put sex in a pedestal like that, it just becomes natural expression, especially if you had decent sexual education (or at least tried to pursue it on your own).

I don't know if they're really putting sex itself on a pedestal. They have a variety of circumstances going on:

• Wife is the captain, and REALLY wants to win the championship
• First time fucking after they got married, they had a pregnancy scare, caused by a broken condom, possibly because hubby is BIGLY BIG
• Pregnancy could wreck her career for years, potentially forever
• She knows they don't break that often, but can't trust them because of what happened
• Also can't go on the pill because it could affect performance
• So they make a promise to each other: No hanky panky until the season is over
• Problem: She's a horny beast, who can barely be stopped one she gets going
• He's the stable, calm one, so it falls on him to keep the promise from being broken. Even though he REALLY WANTS TO TAP THAT.

It's not like he's avoiding sex because he doesn't want to fuck her brains out all day erry day, he's respecting the promise they made together. I'm not saying it's high art or even good writing, but so far it's at least self consistent and mostly explained within the story.

Also it's amusing that my autocorrect constantly wanted to change "promise" to "premise", because that's what it really is... =)

Wasn't it said that she got pregnant after the first time they had sex? So is there a child? Did she get an abortion? What happened there? I'm not seeing a child running around, that much is for sure.

The condom broke when they were having sex, they panicked thinking she got pregnant and swear to only do it again after she wins the championship so there's no risk she have to leave the team because of a pregnancy.

What really gets me is that athletes fuck a ton, like Olympic Villages are known for that. Obviously they tried out cardboard beds for the Olympics in Tokyo (because Japan is so fucking weird about sex) but I mean you ain't stopping a horny athlete in their twenties
