I think at this point I would find it more credible to see an Isekai set in a fantasy world where the protagonist's quest is to invent and spread condoms so that people can do it without fear of births.

Natural family planning (the name for cycle based birth control) has one highest failure rates of any method of birth control, even with perfect adherance (which almost nobody does).

Pretty sure hormonal birth control isn't super common in Japan - quick google search says it's not covered by national insurance - and there's a cultural component to that.

I agree that the premise is dumb, but also I think the author has reasonably established that they're being dumb cause they're young and paranoid cause she got pregnant their first time.

And these have to be fully working adults well into their 20's. Most people would be in university studying and playing for their teams. Yet this is a married couple with a child that are pursuing their receptive careers and living in their own home. You need a real job to support that lifestyle.

They sometimes might not realize the cycle has changed til they've already done something. And bodies are weird man.

And it's not like they cannot use other contraceptives like condoms either.

Again, I think this is just paranoia on their end and I wonder if we're gonna get more of their first time & there's gonna be like condom failure or they thought it was a "safe" day or both. IRL abortion would also be an option but that would be a major tonal shift for this manga.

Also it seems like they're just super inexperienced and likely the manga will go into that backstory.
