I do love this series. I honestly don't have any problems with it. I don't think it's some SSS tier amazing and wondrous manga, but it's so dang good and cute. Funny, too, of course. Read it!

It took around 200 chapters for the squid jokes to finally appear, but all the translators did a phenomenal job translating this wonderful manga! I’d love for the characters’ “roles” to be resolved somewhat, but I’m fine with the manga, one of the best SoL out there.

Decent slice-of-life manga with good art. It really starts getting repetitive about halfway through because the mangaka didn't make use of longer plot lines or any real sort of character development. Still, a worthwhile read for what it is.

It is with some delight and dismay that I realized I actually said squid pro quo when discussing current events recently. Ika Musume flashbacks followed.

100% unimpressed, dropped after a quarter hundred chapters. Not a single character who'd evoke sympathy, the jokes fall flat,
"Ok, we're leaving for the night, and we'll just leave Ika Musume alone, only to listen to us have fun and laugh without her, out in the distance - how funny!"
"Ok, we'll put a collar on her neck and treat her like a dog - how funny!"
Hi-fucking-larious.
I must not be in the target audience, apparently.

I got into this off of Splatoon because I got reminded it existed when I went back to play before the servers shut down and this manga somehow feels like it was specifically made for me in almost every way, im not gonna say this is absolute 10/10 peak manga but it is just a really solid slice of life with light super natural elements (and someone not the first one to be something I absolutely feel in love with, the first is the Ghost and Molly Mcgee) and I dont really have any complaints major, only really some minor nitpicks that don't bring it down too much, well besides 1 major thing

My favorite chatcater in the manga Ayumi Tokita, she is the girl who goes around in the fake Ika mask for 2 chapters and then starts working at beach house lemon, she is a shy girl who seems to be social anxiety rep and she really weirdly gets shafted but the creator, one of my praises for the manga is the it feels like every character who isn't a one off gets a good amount of screen/book time and gets treated pretty well, but only specifically Ayumi was treated very weirdly, not getting her name revealed for a good few chapters, takes nearly 100 chapters for her to actually talk to Ika from when she first appeared and then she finally gets a few chapters focused in volume 12 on her and then only appears 3 times after that in chapters wherever volume 12 to ends-299, after that she only has 1 chapter about her in the 300's which mainly was about her dog instead of her, and then outside of 2 small 1 panel appearances she just disappears from exists until she shows up again as a small cameo in one of the last volumes chapters, she even got put on the little side banner of characters at the start of the new volume only to later get replaced by the policewoman, if she didn't get weirdly shafted this manga would of easily been a 10/10 for me, but because of that it's only a 9/10, still really good but I just wish we saw alot more of her and she wasnt treated as badly by the creator

Also I finished the manga on Splatoons 10 birthday, happy 10th anniversary Splatoon
