I wonder if that painting friend will be at all relevant here or if that while spiel about light and darkness is the point. I mean, there’s no logical reason to think so, but the guy is hella sus with a speech like that.
This manga is amazing, it messes with the readers minds. I know guy is wrong in the head but he does not make me feel like its wrong, i want to cheer for this guy, but at the same time wtf.
If the guy in the last chapter's comments are true
Since he's supposedly the mastermind behind the stalking in the otherthis version of this manga, it's not a stretch that the painter could be himself. So I think he's really talking about himself before the timeslips.
Edit: shinya78 Was the person I was talking about, so im correcting and striking out my spoilers.
Welp. That makes a shocking amount of sense, especially considering that the painting his “friend” made is of Mika. No wonder his friend looked so creepy just from the few details of him shown. So guy traveled back in time and turned himself into a riajuu just to get with her, wew.
I’m guessing that he became acquainted with her in the original timeline where she was beings depressingly passed around from guy to guy, and got a crush on her/wanted to save her but couldn’t do anything about it and just got gradually obsessed with her since then. I’m also guessing he got sent back in time further than MC did, since he probably became the popular and handsome tennis team captain after working to improve himself. Though, I wonder what’s his trigger for going back in time? Since he started acting after MC returned from the timeline where he was married to Akiho and had a taser ready for the camp.
Also, looking back at chapter 3, in the timeline MC is married with Akiho; is that Miyama with the shaved head at the back? Wonder if we should know who the guy with the glasses is later.
it is possible that this creepy painter guy did something with the wife in the first timeline after MC's death from metro train and she also died and maybe even the creepy painter died too in some accident which kind of started some shitty time loop.
Also, japanese loves story with spirit gods, so it is quite likely that a god allowed the MC to chase after his wife in exchange of something due to his untimely death. And I strongly believe that the wife did something for that exchange to happen.
So here we have it, two people chasing one another in a time loop with no clear result. But it is very likely that the wife san will get all the memories of the lives MC sacrificed to get her damn virginity in the finale as we all know that they are gonna fuck hard in the end irrespective of whatever happens in story before it.
Welp, I dunno where you guys got that "two guys are time traveling" theory.
The other dude could just be obsessed with Mika all this time, I dunno... the raws doesn't cover anything much of that guy other than "he's been stalking Mika all this time". No indication of whether or not he IS also looping. The only obvious thing in common he has with the MC is the obsessive desire to have Mika's virginity. @MedNed
The mastermind in the nicovideo version is the cram school teacher. One could also argue that the "painting" was "the plan to frame MC" and the "painter" is the other stalker.
@FallenAngel
The one serialized in Jump's Magazine Pocket is this version. @abc1230
That sounds more like a theory rather than a spoiler, more so when we don't have all the information revealed yet. The current raws only have us

It is a bit jumping the gun, but ngl I did too assume that as well with my
'true stalker is talking about himself and his painting obsession' guess because the painting hobby gives off a 'ivy league' vibe and he does the gives off that vibe himself, and it's unlikely one of the stalkers would have a place too keep those, including that very large one, paintings, as a teenager. There are ways around that, such as being a rich kid with his own private art studio, or something like that, but it was my first impression.
Edit: shit it's actually drawings not paintings
Now stepping back, a most of the time travel mystery/thriller manga i've read don't have the antagonist time traveling as well. Usually at best (for the MC) the villian just becomes aware that the MC is fucking up his plan's and tries to get rid of them, or at worst the villain finds out the MC is a time traveler.
Okay, I've read back a few chapters, and I think that one line in chapter 15 was the thing that gave people the idea that the other guy was also time traveling.
And because the exact same line shows up in the past, in one of the letters that the stalker sent to Mika, MC just assumed that the other guy is like him.
Although, the only other thing that gives us hints that someone other than the MC is aware of the time travel shenanigans, is the line "so that the next time he sees her, he could choose the right path" from the accomplice(future). And the line "what I felt from you from that time wasn't a mistake" from accomplice(past) of which MC has no idea "which time" that he meant. What is clear, is that the accomplice(future) recognizes that the MC and the mastermind are "similar", but to what extent, is yet to be revealed.
