I never said again!! was the first or only manga to use this trope, it was just the the most recent and prominent one I could think of, it also uses the same catalyst to time travel it's obviously not an accident that this is the case and no the issue isn't the charecters motivations, it's the senseless hate for people who want a virgin relationship, you straight up call people who want this senseless cavemen, laughter is due to our primal instincts is it wrong to laugh now. I honestly don't care if you want to critique the charecters motivations I personally think it's way to early to do so, we need conflict for there to be a story and this is his conflict, we have already seen it fledge out more with the heroine being a victim of abuse in both timelines and with her crush in the previous one being an obstacle, if it turns out that the ending is just bullshit wish fulfillment than sure it's no better than shitty isekai manga but I personally am intrigued by how this manga will play out.
You just stated a bunch of common sense here obviously obsessing about the past is unhealthy and you shouldn't do that but that is just more evidence for pure relationships verse promiscuous ones, less failed or pointless relationships means less relationships to regret right.
if you want to talk about gendered issues that's fine I don't see the relevance but w/e to that I would say men are the ones who pressure men to lose their virginity because of competition and base instincts and women are the ones pressuring women to keep theirs. men want women to be promiscuous it all comes back to the old adage if I can get the milk for free why buy the cow and that's why women want other women to not sleep around because it means less men who would be willing to purchase the cow which is true, marriage rates drop as promiscuity raises so women have to start being more promiscuous to compensate if you want to talk organizations I would say most organizations like school and religion pressure both sides to not be promiscuous.
I mean yeah I don't deny that stats can be manipulated anyone with a brain would know this but I'm not seeing any stats that show the opposite to be true and I certainly doubt they would be more reliable, if they did exist using common sense and just looking at the common trends of society it shows you that promiscuity is bad, as promiscuity raises marriage and child birth rates drop, single parent house holds are provable to be bad for children, more partners equal more relationships to compare to your current one and give you more doubts about it I mean there are probably way more common sense factors I could think of as to why promiscuity is bad and I wasn't just talking about marriages lasting longer but that stats also show the couple's are happier and more satisfied which plays into my earlier theories.
