For "Nidhogg the Unwasted" the japanese is this "不贅" is The Unwasted correct? this Kanji is confusing. Anyone have any opinion on that?
It's literally 'not extravagant/luxurious', so I agree that frugal could be a suitable translation.

Nid's outfit is just a bunch of scraps, so it fits that she's the opposite of luxurious or wealthy.

Thanks for the TL.

Also, NOT. A. DRAGON. guy is gonna be disappointed.

I keep trying to leave my cringe...but they keep trying to drag me back.

Upside, he's found a harem with a cringe fetish.

Their names are sourced from the Buddhist concept of the eightfold path, the precepts practiced to escape samsara. Her sobriquet should be fashioned after "Right livelihood" (which I think is still the strict English TL?) which consists of living without engaging with prohibited ideas. So for example, not only are you not allowed to eat meat, but you also cannot trade in it (buying or selling) or use it in pursuing other, more approved methods to sustain your lifestyle and a proper lifestyle doesn't allow waste or enriching oneself.

Basically: Waste not, want not. With that in mind, wasteless might be the proper intention of the name. She seems like the type to use only what god gave her to ply herself (meaning, beat ass) inexhaustingly.

Doesn't retain the double meaning, but I'd say that's even more fitting as a term.
It's because in stories like the wuxia genre that often also carry Buddhism theme, there's an archetype who often translated as "beggar", but their identity is actually more accurately described as ascetic monk.

@Qwormuli ’s explanation above is most probably the correct one, but I feel the need to add that in Chinese dictionaries, this means “concise, terse, which doesn’t waste words”, which feels like a joke nickname for a blabbermouth like Nidhogg.
