Nah, this is manga. Oshio will forgive them, the lead guy will click his tongue and say something like "I don't need your pity!", rant that he'll still put Sato back to being her "pure" idol self with all that dumb oshi bullshit, and then we'll move on like nothing happened. Or worse they'll end up as friends.

I learned long ago that almost nobody faces the proper consequences of their actions when they can be given forgiveness and brushed aside.

The same thing as most plots in drawn-out rom-coms: Needless and probably frustrating drama.

This was worse than even most of those lol. There were never any real stakes - it was mentioned a couple of times that they want him to break up with Sato, they threw salt at him a few times and tied him to a chair for a bit, and then it's suddenly resolved. It's like the author realised how fucking stupid the idea was and tried to backtrack it.
