Not the point, but wonder how well 'neets/hikkikomori' would do if they were like a dirt poor family or if both of the parents just died or just like moved away/abandoned kids like that, prolly a bit uncommon but i suppose in that case if there's not some japanese welfare system or so i guess most would be forced to survive and do some menial convenience store jobs if not just be homeless i guess, on the flip side if someone's family is super wealthy it might be an ideal situation for a neet lol

Geolocation. If they think the dad's coworker had his phone on him when he was at their house before getting offed, they'd worry the last trace he left would point to their family.
Since the father picked him up from the street, we could see that the two could have met each other on his way back from work, where the coworker dropped his phone, meaning he'd become a potential suspect because he could have been one of the last people to see him.

Anyway they're also simply being a bit too paranoid, that's recognisable from their expressions in the drawings.

But that's the problem. They already confirmed that the manager didn't have his phone with him during the murder. There's literally nothing connecting them with him on the phone. This is an actual plot induced stupidity. Genuinely souring this manga a little.

I said the last location of his phone is on the road the dad takes when he gets off work, from there he could become a suspect, and as I said even if this is a bit far-fetched, it makes sense the members of the family would freak-out and do something nonsensical, if they're so anxious from having killed someone. That's not unrealistic.

The police will probably look into the dude's coworkers, the dad is one, if they link the phone location on his road to work, he won't get cleared out of suspicions, but anyway it wouldn't get farther than that.
All of this probably won't happen anyway.

"The manager always forces his way into X-san to drag him along to places/intrudes on everyone's houses all the time" or so
