It’s one of those stories where you and the main character are both largely in the dark, uncovering fragments of the truth as the story progresses, each one only prompting more questions. But it feels rough around the edges: the pacing feels a bit fast with regards to the fleeting encounters with side characters, the thicc elf character (and other excessively beautiful women) feel kinda forced, and Solo seems suspicious of some things and not of others. We don’t have a good benchmark for the relative strengths of the characters we see, and the story doesn’t quite feel like it’s moving in normal conflicts followed by resolutions. Leaving the catacombs behind without returning to investigate, having that old woman turn into an undead, and cool hat man getting squashed, these feel like unresolved tensions that could have been resolved with just a bit of self-reflection from our MC.

All that said, the art is great and the setting and overarching plot is unique as it is enthralling. I mean it’s not quite as good as Tower Dungeon, but it’s still good.

Thanks for translating this manga so far! I also really hope somebody picks it up. While there are some rough edges, as explained above, I also see the potential in it and am intrigued by the magic system. I am a sucker for magical systems with clear rules.
