I feel this story let me down. In the end, the journey from start to finish turns out to have been pointless. Yes, I get that that is part of the point of the story -- but I don't really care for it.

This was not the fast and depressing ending I signed up for

Guess that's reality for you . .

It's a very relatable ending. It was disappointing, but not in a writing way, just in a way that makes you realize that real life is exactly like this. I normally don't like fictional work that remind you the harshness of reality, since fiction is meant to take you away from it, not bring you closer to it. But this was a nice reminder of where we are in life.

Lol, so in the end she just moved houses and got a new job. She never even left Japan or made a friend. That's so realistic, haha.

It's pretty great, and I'm not disappointed at all. Moving out into the middle of nowhere and starting a new life sounds like fun, but in real life it takes a lot of courage to rough it or a lot of money to just have a good time. Sakamoto didn't have any of that, so it was inevitable that she would end up doing what she always did.

I just hope she moved somewhere with better living and working conditions so she can have the time to rest, pick up hobbies and make friends. I also wish she had taken a short vacation before jumping back into the rat race. But it's all good.
