To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Eat the World Tree. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of both Eastern and Western folklore and culture, most of the references will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Si-heon's optimistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from his experiences and desire to be different than the World Tree or Flower. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this doctrine, to realize that the novel isn't just smut- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Eat the World Tree truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, Wiki's Qlippoth system or the Sephirot system which are cryptic references to the Kabbalah. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Yamyeong's genius unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have an Eat the World Tree tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Oh by the way half of this only makes sense if you read up to the late 950s. IDT the latest MTLs are that far yet.
Or you read the Namu Wiki articles for certain characters.

You might know the axed webtoon adaptation of this as "Fucked the World Tree", which is the name on the HTL site.

Really fucking esoteric as possible.

I'm sure most people, including me, would have no idea what you're talking about. So there's not much point in telling people not to hate something they don't even regard with indifference. I like the monologuing though, it really shows off your abundance of personality. :headpat:

Do people actually not know the Rick and Morty copypasta?

Am I too old???
Original for reference, which was always satirical
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it.
