Actually, the first edition and some of the current ones have illustrations in them. Over two hundred, I believe.

On another note, it's interesting to watch videos of people ranking the Tales series games, and seeing how their opinions vary.

Some of them are very wrong though. Tales of The Abyss is just mid, and Tales of Zestiria is a good game only to people who have never played another Tales game.
