but his feeling is just a suspension bridge effect from the situation,
not truly fall in love.

I think that's also the best ending for kanokari.

Ehhh I mean I’m 50/50 on it. On one hand yeah it’s not the best advice but what do you honestly expect from him right now? This man is in absolute mental shambles. His family is literally falling apart and in love at the same time. Second Banri could easily get with someone else why else even bring it up? She knows Arata doesn’t look at her like that. Play we could easily get another boyfriend candidate in another chapter down the road. It isn’t like he literally said to date someone right now he’s just obviously directing her away from him.

What’d be interesting is if the author did different stories for alternate endings. So after he chooses a person and the author decides to end sometime later, then he could do another timeline from some time before his decision but different girl. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone do that in a manga, but it’d be interesting
