Well there are other ways to be connected, other than direct connection that @wilddeath seems to suggest.

I mean, considering that we don't know anything about the past of this world, there are various possibilities.

Like Humans & Demons used to live peacefully with each other in the long past, but something "outside" started to interfere causing them to split and be opposed to each other.
That could possibly create the situation of Luciana & Previous Hero having common ancestor in the long past, which no one remembers about.
