Why Step-? That denotation is for a relative earned through remarriage, not through adoption. Not to mention using the denotation can hold the connotation that Larucu thinks of him as another father, when he doesn't feel any connection to his biological family that had kicked him out.

ChatGPT went with step father in that moment and I didn’t notice it. My bad. if I do another chapter I’ll just have mc refer to him as father

Wild words is a good font to start but you’d find that most groups are more than happy to give tips to aspiring scanlators. You one of us now, as they say.

I’m not a scanlator but i was studying typography so i have some typesetting knowledge, and i’m also a proofreader, so stuff like readability is more important to me than most ppl. My tips for font is to go browsing at font sites like dagont, 1001fonts, or google fonts, and just start hoarding all the nice-looking fonts.

And yet, none of those are right for this situation, as step- and -in-law are nearly interchangeable as relatives earned through remarriage, and fostering is only the legal guardian as far as child care, not a legally bonded family like adoptive. Though those last two have a relatively thin difference with each other.

You do have the right idea to have it as just 'Father', as those who are in an adoptive family would only really add such denotation as a show of distance between them, choosing to drop any denotation when addressing the family member as an affectionate show of how closely they have grown attached to them, seeing them as just as close, if not closer than one's biological family, which is understandable given Larucu's feelings towards his biological family makes them no different than strangers/hostiles to him.

I enjoy this manga so ty for bringing it back. Diologue was readable albeit a bit stiff. As another mentioned, "Stepfather" is a bit odd, more accurate would be "Adoptive father". The only thing that I would say is rather bad is the font size and choice.
