I think criticising is fine, especially when a story pretends to be rooted in reality, while that reality is a bit farfetched.
I also think that precisely because it's fictional we can grant some leeway to an absurd scenario (especially with the absurdity it devolves to when it turns into a fantasy setting).

It's all good. The title reminded me of Campfire Cooking, which just saw its anime air last season, but it seems to be a reverse isekai or something similar that takes place on this world. Curious if this is going to be good or remain generic and if so whether it'll at least be good.

Easy the MC choose to be that because he doesn't want to be on the bad side of all the classmates as they were siding with the other guy. What if he retaliated again and someone snitched on him and exaggerated the story in order to make him the bad guy?

I'm glad that people are finally starting to call out this kind of bullshit scenario. It's clearly written to appeal to people who felt opressed/abused by some classmate but it has no real substance behind it. I don't exactly demand realism from manga, but this kind of wafer thin pandering is just cheap, pointless, boring and demeaning to people who actually suffered abuse at school
