Ah yeah that moment when you found your god is just a normal human who cower on the sound of lightning.

Zealotry comes with its own price.

I mean, i see what Nao means but in the end Mao is right, she is Shinonome not Nao. Mao will have been Shinonome even if Nao didn't act like her for the public. And seriously, can't they just talk about it and solve that ? Like, why the fuck Nao cut tie and leave ..... for one single legitimate comment of Mao ? Oh and well, it was obvious that Aiko will break down when she know who her goddess is. It's easier to live in the lies and not know who your heroes really are.

I'm surprised she believes Mao at her word, but now she has a crisis of having the artist Shion and the 'persona' Shion being two different people and she doesn't know how to handle this info.

@Lilliwyt It's not that surprising. Nao has grown jealous of Mao success. Her own failure to reach her dream made her envy Mao and be desperate to get some of her fame. She felt an illusion of success when she impersonated Shinonome Shion because so many were looking up to her, but it wasn't to "her" and she knew it. She cut the bridge because she needed to separate herself from the source of her envy. She knew she was in the wrong for resenting Mao' success and she hated herself for it, but she still felt that envy fueled hatred toward Mao.

It is not something you can just talk over. She kept it sealed off deep inside for a while and it erupted. And envy is sadly something that you won't resolve by talking, it's something only yourself can work on. It can still be repaired thought, but for that Nao need to work on herself and only after that have a talk with Mao.

Wow.. that is super awful.

It's not like I don't get it. I know what it's like to be an unsuccessful artist in a field that demands popularity. When your friends from school are talking about the cool restaurants they've been to or the delicious food the had, and you're eating beans and rice on $15 a week; when they're talking about the cool vacations going sightseeing in Japan, scuba diving in the Bahamas or Hawaii, and the closest thing you've had to a vacation in years was driving your friend to the airport; when your friends are talking buying their third house and renting out the others to make money hand over fist, and you're living in a run-down little converted storage room with shared bathrooms; when they talk about the cool new cars they're buying on a whim, and you're biking 6 miles to your crumby part time job at 4am in the middle of the winter because gas is too expensive. It's really disheartening.

But taking it out on your friends is still super awful.

(Yikes... that got a little bit personal there....)

Ah, I was expecting Aiko to snap, but instead it's going to be the slow decent into madness. There's no way she doesn't end up completely losing her shit over Mao deceiving her and then also ... you know ... being Mao.

Given the apocalyptic nature of the random catastrophes that seem to be popping up around them, I'm guessing this story won't have a fluffy ending. It will be devoid of fluff. Fluffless.
