Yeah, if it part of duty we cant say killing is bad.
for ex. Soldier killing another soldier is not bad, because they trying protect or duty for it.
The hero just another MC japanese, because how dense he is. Looking at first you know he is just another attention seeker like other MC. Trying to be famous or bigshot yet still have heart.
He trying to find why kingdom trying to invade demi-human. and we know he is confuse about this too. because he dont have courage to self-living.
if he not follow kingdom or princess, he gonna make bad route ( exiled or maybe executed )
other, princess gonna trying summoning again to call other heroes.

Souya is not better. He follow his heart, not his logical.
If char or ar or natasya killed/torture, maybe he gonna rampage

@buecherwurmin he took part in the invasion, helped them capture the capital and thus is partly responsible for all the bad things Jeneret army is doing to beastmen. He has to be blind not to see that good guys don't crucify people and don't use slaves. The fact that he simply listened to what was told and didn't even try to find the truth himself only makes it worse. Ignorance doesn't excuse misdeeds. And it's not clear that he recognized the mc, he may have thought that he saw him somwehere but that's it, we don't know for sure.
To answer the question wether the villian should be killed when the chance arises, you should ask yourself if it is possible to erase their wrongdoings or somehow negate them and their reasons should be considered but they are not the only deciding factor. Such judgments are clearly subjective, but well the justice can't be objective. If the soldier had no chance but to go to war(was forcibly called to the colors), then he is not at fault( if he didn't overstep the boundaries of killing or harming civilians, torture). If the soldier joined an invasion for money or glory, then he is a partner in the crime.

that panel is like the translator take if he actually do killed them all but....who knows what actually can happen
if he did kill him with no actual witnesses the GM can appoint one witness to spin any tales he want....or whatever the author want the plot goes anyway

i can not believe peoples absurd reasoning for protecting that evil piece of shit "hero", calling people "mUrDeR HoBo" just because we want to see that scumbag punished for his disgusting actions is absurd, only someone who is purely rotten to the core could see what they are doing to the beastmen and not think it to be pure evil.
and the soldiers is no different either, they are mostly if not all purely rotten to the core as well, there is no forgiving them for what they have done, they need to be removed so they cant hurt someone else ever again.
protecting them is the very exact same as protecting Nazi soldiers and their horrific treatment of jew's during WW2, "did not know better" and "just following orders" is not a excuse for their horrible actions.

all those guards, all those soldiers, and those enemy nobels is better of dead now then a threat later, mercy and sparing them is the actions of the weak who is not capable of doing what need to be done to protect those who can not protect themself.

Not too worried since they haven't confirmed if he is dead or alive, checking his pulse is a start so hopefully they do that in the next chapter

Never have mercy on the enemy, especially when they will never submit to you out of blind loyalty. I hope our MC learned his lesson & doesn't spare the Hero, even if this hero has a potential to think for himself & has remorse. If he never changes even during the final confrontation, punch him & finish him off. Also, that kingdom can't continue to prosper as its ancient belief is 100% human supremacist. Don't pity them even if they're humans, MC.

if you dont for one its just bad form, impolite and dismissive and on the other hand if you don't it will always comeback to bite you in the ass

This is always the problem with quasi-pacifist like characters thrown in situations like this where not killing an enemy comes back to haunt them because of their naivety. The two sides are in a war, it's not like the noble was just some big-bad that he could let go and not have to worry about again, no he was pretty much an enemy combatant with intelligence that he could go back and tell the enemy force about. At the very least, MC could've dragged him out of the kingdom he was trying to keep out of the conflict and taken out the noble elsewhere.

As far as the hero, remember people, he's been duped. That's the reason for the part of the story from his POV. Regardless of how you feel about how he shouldn't be duped, how much better would you do in that situation? You're pretty much abducted, you know nobody else in that world and the only people feeding you information are the people telling you that they brought you there to help them fight an evil enemy. They control all information. If you're not the type of person that seeks out more information, and many people aren't, then you're likely to just believe them. Remember, these same people duped the MC and had him believe they could send him back home. You don't know if they didn't tell the hero that once he accomplishes their goals that they would send him back home. It's also apparent that he seems aware that their story isn't fully kosher, but he's falling back on it despite what he sees. That doesn't make him evil, naive and self-deluded maybe, but not necessarily evil. It would've happened to the MC had he not been teleported into the middle of nowhere and experienced different viewpoints.

The biggest fuck up that he did was not the noble, it was the hero that walk past him and he did nothing about.
