Yeah this is what i have been questioning myself a lot about when reading crossdressing manga...
Even if the boy fall in love with the "trap", doesn't it mean they're in love with their girl appearance, which subsequently mean they're still attracted to girl and their sexual orientation is still straight? If that's the point, the outcome of their love would not be such a happy ending since he can't really have sex with the trap in the homo way (cause he's not gay), and his interest in the "trap" would ceased as soon as hormone kicks in and the cute little boy become more and more of a man...

We just have to see how they will handle this.

But MC does bring up good arguments, if "Darling~" mainly likes Sakutarou because he is cute, then what are we to expect to happen wen he stops being cute ? Will they still be together once the girly cloths eventually stop fitting him ?

It also gives off a good contrast against the other "male interests" in the series, Inui is still bluntly attracted to Noah even after learning he is a guy (despite the misunderstanding), we can see this as leftover feelings, but the fact that he is still attracted to Noah and not anyone else in the cross-dressing club means that at least Noah is his type, and not because he still sees Noah as the only "girl" he can approach, while the President has a weak spot for Asahi and he himself knows it, which only makes it an even weaker spot wen Asahi cross-dresses, but now we have Ayachika, that despite not being a "bad guy" by nature, he still admits to be in a relationship whit Sakutarou because he find him cute appearance wise, he never say that he likes his personality or the fact that he is a guy, which makes it seem like he is simply only in love whit Skutarous looks, and not in love whit him as an individual, unlike Inui and the President.

Its a very nice way to develop the MC though, the MC believes he feel head over heels for the looks only, and after all this time still hasn't forgotten Ryu even while knowing he is a guy, we even see him growing to like Ryu as a person trough out the chapters despite his self-claimed dislike for him after being "tricked", he so far has held on to feelings that he himself doesn't accept, because for him no matter how much he likes Ryu as an individual, he still cannot get over the fact Ryu is a guy, but now he has met the opposite end of the spectrum, a guy that doesn't care about gender, only looks, bringing to the table the argument of "then you only like him because he looks like a girl, not because he is him", which can put a test to MCs feelings, as he has set the flag to figure out wether his feelings are only something created by the looks of Ryu, or because MC actually likes Ryu as a person.

Sorry for the wall of text.

nah the whole thing about liking traps and CDs is the fact that the guy dresses like a girl but he is a guy. There's something attractive about it, I guess it has to do with bending traditional gender norms. There's a lot of straight guys that do get fooled and once they realize they ghost them. You also have the shitty kind of gays that are in denial and try to blur orientation (like the boyfriend here) so people in their circle don't question the fact that they smashed a trap. You're not wrong in your last sentence the typical route for most CD and traps is gay death at around 30 yrs old. They're not young anymore and cannot pass a cute female so some contemplate suicide.
Overall a trap is an orientation test. if you're attracted to a crossdresser, you like dick there's no way around it. You're gay.

Your words on Ayachika are supported by the fact that he is very clingy towards someone he sees as a cute person. He doesn't get around much and if he does they are not good looking to him. The fact that he thought about a murder suicide if Sakutarou left him is alarming. He can't afford to lose him. He represents those gays that are gay because they can't get women. Unironically the type of guy that says its not gay if the balls don't touch.

My words are based on the fact that he himself says that he is in love whit Sakutarou because he is cute, hence why the MC said "So in the end, you just like him because he looks cute, because he looks, well... girly, thats not different from what you already like, its not that you are attracted to cross-dressers".

Not sure if it was the mangakas intetion, but this chapter does make it seem like Ayachika loves Sakutarou, but for the wrong reason, whats the point of dating if you are only dating because they are cute ?
If thats all you are looking for in a relationship then thats as good as saying that once they stop being cute is over.
Had the mangaka been more clear, like stating that Ayachika finds Sakutarou generally cute, both as a guy, cross-dresser and person, basically the whole cliche thing where the guy finds the other guy extremely cute in whatever aspect he has wen no one else does, then my opinion on him would be better, but in his rant, he literally numbers all the girly aspects of Sakutarou, the wig, the eyes and how the clothes fit him, nothing else, which basically makes people ask "so what happens wen the wig, the cloths, and the eyes that Ayachika finds cute stop fitting Sakutarou, will he just stop liking him ?".

If the mangaka wanted people to like Ayachika then why did they went for those 3 focus points and not like, his personality, how nice of a guy he is, how he also looks cute as a guy, ya know, something that doesn't make it seem that you are in the relationship for the looks.

Like, I can see where the Mangaka wanted to go, maybe its lost in translation, the Mangaka probably wanted to make it seem the MC is belittling Ayachikas feelings as "deep down you only like him because he looks like a girl" while that not being the case, but the page before didnt really make that seem the case, and make it seem like the MC is basically right, that indeed, Ayachika only likes Sakutarou because of him looking like a girl.

@I_I_Hope_I_I @ribbitribbitsaga This is a two part story, and the next chapter delves into Darling's feelings in more depth. I won't spoil the specifics since it hasn't been translated yet, but Darling's feelings are more complex than just "I like him because he's cute." MC jumped to his own conclusions, then ran away from the conversation, so Darling didn't explain his views fully. I can't blame you for coming to the conclusions you did given what is translated thus far, but you may want to wait until the next chapter to evaluate Darling.

As far as the murder/suicide comment, he's not literally threatening Sakutarou with death. He's doing a comedic exaggeration to show how in love he is, like how some people say "you're more important to me than breathing" and other silly things. Admittedly, I think its in poor taste to joke with your boyfriend about murder/suicide, but I don't think its "alarming" so much as its a bad joke in a comedy manga.

The MC did jump to conclusion base on his own felling
And i know when someone in a manga tell something is rarely wrong * so taking it as was the author think is not "wrong" in a way but still i think it was really frame as the MC felling and note the author revealing the truth of darling felling
anyway i hope the next chapter clear that up for many people

* hypotheses by MC are always right if you read a shonen by example

@mirewitch

I see, then what I said at the end makes more sense now, had this ch. been the end of the Ayachika x Sakutarou arc then the impression I would have had was what I commented at the top, but knowing there is more then "you cute" is nice, next time I will try to wait for the next chapter so I can have the whole picture, I guess this is one of the main issues wen it comes to ch. per ch. reading, some times the information isnt all there, but I just cant wait to read something I am fallowing XD

This chapter really had me surprised. I understand a lot of people on the internet make the jokes "are traps gay?" when sexuality and gender aren't necessarily black and white. Even most in the LGBT+ online don't understand that it's not black and white too. It's very complex and this chapter is trying to make it seem like it. The next chapter is going going to tell show exactly that it's not. As someone who is pansexual; I am attracted to all genders but do have a strong type which happens to be the masculine type. I like the looks very masculine on matter what of gender. I know that whoever I will want to be with one day doesn't apply to them having to be masculine. Just a type I like.

Some people feel the need to knowing about gender because gender/sexuality is (said before) very complex. No one wants to question or have time doubling themselves. It hurts and breaks you down. Which is pretty great about traps/drag queens. They know they are comfortable with their biological gender and able to dress up so feminine. The same can be for reverse-traps/drag kings. However, those who are attracted to them will often think it has to be one or the other when it's just simple in the end: they are (I don't like using this term but it has to be said) cis. If you are questioning what you like about them is a lot of time thinking.

However, one thing true is that looks aren't everything. Removing the looks despite their gender shows you if you like their looks or who they truly are. Which is why I don't get the whole "are traps gay?" when they aren't. It's whatever sexuality the character is or maybe you happen to be bi/gay. So I can see why the MC is wondering if he is attracted to the looks or him as a person. In the end, gender and sexuality are confusing. No one can deny that. Just happens to have some people be comfortable with who they are or question. Both are fine too.

@kiero13 I think its Inui

@I_I_Hope_I_I No worries. I like to comment on chapters right after reading them too. I just figured I'd warn you since in this case its going to be expanded on a lot.

@kiero13 That is Inui. He's the guy who's afraid of girls and likes short prince guy. He was the focus of chapters 5-6 if you wanna refresh your memory.

I get that this is the webcomic version, but it's still amusing to see the artist give up on the non-character parts (chairs/plates/sink/etc.) literally one page later.
