I remember not so long ago, manga writers thought it was completely okay to sneak a kiss from an unconscious person. I'm so glad that has been basically reversed where characters now see why it's bad, even if in a comedic way.

Reminds me tangentially about a thread where we were discussing the tendency of women to hit men for "comedy" purposes, and how that should stop, and someone seriously argued that it was just a cultural thing that was funny. Can't wait till casual physical assault goes the same way as casual sexual assault.

While I agree with you about the whole unconscious kiss thing. I'll have to disagree with the hitting.

One hitting another is a form of slapstick which is itself a form of physical comedy. Slapstick is a old as comedy considering the equation of comedy = pain + time is a common explanation. Saying women hitting men for comedy is just a culture thing is plain wrong. Slapstick is universal among all cultures since physical comedy does not rely on language.
