This is only a chapter for the manga. I'm not sure how knowing this is a novel and was part of an ongoing series, that didn't stop here or end an arc here, doesn't change the undercurrent of your original comment but ok. Anyway, some people seem not to know and are making comments implying some sudden incoming end to the series, so I'm reminding them anyway.
Okay yeah, I can appreciate that.

To address your lingering confusion on my initial comment: I just said that is how the chapter "felt" or came across. Not that I suspected the author literally stopped writing halfway through this chapter of the manga and got bored. There are countless ways that effect could've been achieved. The delineation of chapters in the original work, where they begin or end, are mostly irrelevant to the effect the actual writing has when they are compiled into other media. For a concrete example, even if the "middle of the chapter" of the manga corresponded to the end of one chapter of the novel and the beginning of the next, if the author got bored of their characters in between those two chapters, it would still produce the feeling of "getting bored of the characters in the middle of this chapter (i.e. the chapter of the manga, which was written as two separate chapters and then recompiled into one in this hypothetical)." The end result would still be that it felt like the author got bored of their characters in the middle of this chapter, as it exists now.

I don't know if my explanation clears up anything, or if it's incoherent rambling understood only by myself, but that was my attempt at clarifying my point.

I get it. I just have to separate the people who are speaking metaphorically from those who seem to want to imply some impending doom simply because a story went in a direction they didn't like. Your position, I understand though I don't agree with it.

I don’t get why some people read toxic yuri and then get upset when the MC turns down the “safe and healthy” love interest. Like, do you realize what kind of manga you’re reading?

I don't know HOW she reached that conclusion lmao

if I saw komaki and wakaba in real life I don't think I could ever tell that they liked each other, and even if I could, I doubt I would want them to be together is some toxic relationship... matsuri is absolutely in her right to break these 2 off instead of cheering them on like that
But the thing is matsuri will never be loved as she love komaki that's the hard truth no matter what ,it's about feelings.I wouldn't say it will be toxic as you have seen komaki can't handle being toxic very well .

i honestly hate this manga. when i picked this up i thought it was gonna be either similar to other psychological GL i've read or have a conflict between mcs at first because of the "challenges" but then they actually end up growing closer.. it was anything BUT that.

komaki's just straight up abusive and an asshole, and matsuri's advice was shitty. if i saw my friend that... i would've never drawn the conclusion that they were "special" to each other or insinuated they should be in a relationship?? wtaf?? literally the blind leading the blind. she's just pushing her into a toxic abusive relationship.

and before people come in saying "well it's a toxic/psychological yuri what did you expect??" ...not THIS??? like i said i thought it might be similar to other psychological GL i've read.. where the character's emotions are actually explored and the toxicity actually means something.

komaki isn’t written with nuance, she’s just abusive and sadistic, and the story never gives wakaba the emotional depth or agency to push back in a meaningful way. it’s not tragic, it’s just exhausting. i don’t mind messed-up dynamics when they’re framed as such, but this manga treats the abuse like it’s supposed to be profound or romantic when it’s quite frankly just depressing. i wanted emotional tension or psychological depth.. instead i got a shitty cycle of tormenting and misery with no reflection or purpose.

i already dropped this once and just started reading the most recent chapters because i stumbled across it and was curious to see what happened with it. glad to see it got absolutely fucking nowhere.
