This is a novel series and has had no issues with its releases. The novels are already done, and this follows the same plot of the 3rd book, as an adaptation does. We still have one more book to cover, so it will likely be one more volume (since each manga volume has pretty much matched its novel volume).Very bizarre chapter. Feels like the author got tired of their own characters part way through the chapter itself and decided it's time to wrap things up as quick as they can.
The turning point for them seemed to be middle school when Komaki snatched up the guy Wakaba liked only to turn around and break his heart. I'm guessing the moment she was told/figured out that Wakaba liked a boy Komaki immediately jumped to the conclusion that Wakaba was straight and would never like her the way she wanted her to and commenced the years-long crash out this manga is covering the tail end of.i wanna comment on how amazing this series is due to how many people seem to struggle to understand the feelings wakaba has for komaki. while it goes without saying, the reason that komaki's actions actually hurt wakaba emotionally is that wakaba already is in love with her but is to ignorant of romance to actually understand her emotions. the vast majority of interactions that komaki has with wakaba that could be construed as abusive start with wakaba giving her consent to them, ei the bets. at the same time komaki isint entirely acting as someone who hates wakaba because someone who truly hates you would ignore and avoid you and someone who seeks to bully you would not bully you like this. komaki's actions are ultimately confusing to a wakaba who understands hatred and bullys (as anyone her age should understand at this point) and that confusion isn't going to allow her to completely distance herself from komaki and her actions. furthermore any time that wakaba decides to push past her confusion and mentally treat komaki like she is a bully or someone who hates wakaba, komaki acts even further outside wakaba's expectations because komaki ultimately fears wakaba leaving her more than anything else.
you could say komaki is the worst love interest but wakaba fell in love with her long before any of this happened and furthermore komaki's worst trait is really just that she probably isn't someone who feels secure in her relationships with other people due to a lack of trust (where that lack of trust comes from isint explored but thats the normal reason people act that way). if and when the 2 actually become honest with their emotions with each other obviously komaki will stop this whole game they have going on and treat wakaba with more respect, though the trust issues that someone who'd go this far not to have someone they care about drift away would still need to be resolved.
this is the foundation of 99% toxic yuri and once you understand it you'll be less confused when reading other works in the subgenre.
All well and good but wakaba loving komaki doesnt really stop komaki from being abusive.you could say komaki is the worst love interest but wakaba fell in love with her long before any of this happened and furthermore komaki's worst trait is really just that she probably isn't someone who feels secure in her relationships with other people due to a lack of trust (where that lack of trust comes from isint explored but thats the normal reason people act that way). if and when the 2 actually become honest with their emotions with each other obviously komaki will stop this whole game they have going on and treat wakaba with more respect, though the trust issues that someone who'd go this far not to have someone they care about drift away would still need to be resolved.
I'm aware. Nothing in my comment implied otherwise. Novel authors can get tired of their characters as well, regardless of how the releases go.This is a novel series and has had no issues with its releases. This is only a chapter for the manga. I'm not sure how knowing this is a novel and was part of an ongoing series, that didn't stop here or end an arc here, doesn't change the undercurrent of your original comment but ok. Anyway, some people seem not to know and are making comments implying some sudden incoming end to the series, so I'm reminding them anyway.I'm aware. Nothing in my comment implied otherwise.
