Almost everyone gets annoyed with Jiho, but let’s not forget the context:
- She’s still traumatized by her past with her high school best friend.
- She’s been attracted to Woohui from the beginning, and over time, she built up walls after seeing Woohui choose to hang out with her then-boyfriend instead of her.
- She tries to move on from her feelings for Woohui by dating the pink-haired girl, but she ends up completely rejected and just becomes a casual fling.
And let’s not forget the time Jiho cried her heart out on the phone with Woohui, who seemed really upset with her (Jiho wasn’t even dating the pink-haired girl yet). We don’t know exactly what their argument was about, but it’s clear Jiho was really hurting. I think Jiho struggles a lot because of her feelings for Woohui. There’s no doubt she’s in love, but she’s terrified of losing her, just like she lost her high school friend she was also in love with. Jiho has built such a thick shell around herself that she can’t see how genuine Woohui’s feelings are, and she’s convinced she’ll just get hurt again if she allows herself to hope for a romance.
Jiho seems sure that Woohui only likes boys, and she’s always felt disappointed or jealous whenever Woohui showed interest in guys : her jerk ex, her date, the guy on the beach… I don’t think Woohui is a lesbian; I think she’s just in love with Jiho, regardless of gender. They’re simply soulmates, no matter who they are.
And let’s remember, at 20, most of us aren’t very emotionally mature yet. Some people just need time to figure out what they really feel. Woohui has just realized she’s in love with Jiho. Now it’s up to Jiho to realize how much Woohui loves her I guess...
