The "HE" is Amada Teruhito. He acts like his life is a romcom and choose Hidaka as his heroine of his desillusions and doesn't tolerate she is close to another boy. During their childhood, MC gave a wristband to Hidaka, and after he leaves with his sister and dad, Amada assaulted Hidaka to steal the wristband and shout "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE HEROINE, DON'T ACCEPT GIFT FROM ANOTHER BOY". Amada acts like an oblivious dense romcom protagonist but in fact he is fully aware of the other girls feelings for him and doesn't hesitate to manipulate them so they do what he wants. The manipulation is simple : he just tells his worries and the harem will do anything to make him feel better and gain affection points.
1st timeline : It was part of her trap, she never intended to have MC helps her with her love story from the start. She was manipulated by Amada to get rid of MC. Actually there was another victim before MC who served as a test and drop out of the highschool, and it was Hidaka only female friend. Iba thought naively MC will just dropout as well but started to regret what she did when she learns about MC parent's death and asks Amada to help MC but he refuses. Later after MC sister's death, crushed by the guilt and regrets she begged Amada to do something, but he still refuses. At this moment she fully understood she and the other girls were manipulated and choose to take her distance from Amada. The day where she saw the MC on the roof, she rushed to prevent him from jumping but she was too late. Hidaka who was here first glared at her and say she'll never forgive them. 3 days later, Hidaka took her own life and 1 week later Iba do the same, crushed by the guilt and her regrets.
In the 2nd timeline, Iba doesn't have the memories of the 1st timeline at first, the events from the previous timeline still happen but at a faster rate because MC choose to ignore Amada. It's only after the failure of the trap she started to have nightmares about the events of the 1st timeline but think it's only a dream. When she wakes up, she felt the regrets and guilt of her 1st life, even though she doesn't understand why she feels that way but it made her change and take the resolve to make MC x Hidaka ship sail. Beside in this second timeline she saw Amada true colors sooner and during a second incident implying another childhood friend of Amada, Iba plays the double agent for MC.
