I am so glad the girl is this proactive. She got rid of the most stupid misunderstanding in a single chapter!

Well, the misunderstanding is stupid but I can totally see someone who lost his entire family and then killed himself only to travel back in time and get a second chance at saving everyone making. The trauma certainly doesn't allow him to see certain things straight.

That said, this development is much faster than I expected. Let's see how he'll adapt to this situation!

This is a rare case where I can forgive MC being oblivious about every rom com trope the girl does cause he's more focused on keeping his family alive
Well he was clearly completely oblivious in the first timeline too. Maybe he made up his mind about her the first time and just can't accept she's into him despite how obvious she's being.

Man honestly right now I'm more concerned about the red flag charecters causing his family's death than the romance. I just want the Mc and family to have happy life.

I can understand that he's traumatized, but there were so many obvious signs, man. And she hasn't shown any sign of liking the guy so far, so that was a big leap.

On the other hand, she's won me over a little simply for nutting up and saying it this early. Now we don't have to drag this out.

A love confession? At this time of year? As early as chapter 2? In this economy?
I might be wrong but I think she likes him (or she's Canadian and is just being nice).

Hidaka.exe has stopped working.

I wonder if she really said father-in-law because the dad (and him) either pre-approves their future engagement or they really just don't care enough to bother.
Seems like one of those cases in Japanese when a single word can mean from "older person" to "father-in-law", TL chose the latter term to convey this possible meaning, but it sounds really weird in English without knowing the context I think @Kurogwane nailed it above.

Since this manga is one of my favorites right after Jinsei Gyakuten - Uwaki Sare, I figured I'd share a Summary of Light Novel Volume 1 & 2 here along with the LN illustrations. This manga gives off similar vibes to Jinsei but the karma hits way slower, like a proper slow burn. So yeah, Amada's still gonna be annoying all the way through Vol. 4 :haa:

I'll share Summary Light Novel Volume 1 here, WARNING : Please Don't Click if you Hate Spoiler.

Point: Have you read "Jinsei Gyakuten"? This one's got the same theme, turning your fate from bad to good, but with a revenge twist thrown in. The difference is the MC actually kills himself. His dad dies in an accident, his mom gets killed by the family of the kid his dad hit with the car, and his little sister dies getting hit by a car because she spaced out while crossing the street. The MC, who's lost his entire family, is just done with life after losing everyone who mattered to him, so he jumps off the roof of his school.
*Plot twist, turns out the female lead also kills herself after losing the MC, three days after his death.

Characters:
MC: Ishii Kazuki (his face looks like Nukumizu, I love him)
Female lead: Hidaka Mikoto
Fake protagonist: Amada Teruhito (has thought of himself as a romcom protagonist since he was a kid)
Amada's heroine #1: Ushimaki Fuuka
Amada's heroine #2: Iba Kouki (girl's a bitch honestly)
Amada's heroine #3: Kanie Kokoro
Other:
Support character: Tsukiyama Ouji
MC's sister: Ishii Yuzuki

★ Like it says up top, Kazuki loses his whole family, which crushes him so bad he ends up killing himself. When he wakes up, he's back in time to before his high school entrance ceremony.
(Quick rundown of why Kazuki killed himself. Kazuki's your typical background-character type, no standout traits, friends with another background guy who sits near him, Amada Teruhito. Amada likes his childhood friend Hidaka Mikoto, and since he's too shy to talk to her alone, he always drags Kazuki along. Except Amada isn't actually a background character, he's basically a romcom protagonist, because a bunch of pretty girls end up falling for him after he helps them with their problems. One of these heroines asks Kazuki for help getting closer to Amada, big mistake. At the school gym, in front of a bunch of students, Amada accuses Kazuki of forcing that heroine to do whatever he wants. She claims Kazuki took photos of her changing and made her do all kinds of things to satisfy him. Kazuki never did any of that, he was just trying to help her get close to Amada, but suddenly his phone is full of photos of her, so he can't even deny it. From then on the whole school bullies him, not just ignoring him but actual physical violence too. Amada's best friend Tsukiyama Ouji, whose family owns the company Kazuki's dad works for, tells his own father that Kazuki's a horrible person. Ouji's dad, who dotes on his son, immediately fires Kazuki's father. Kazuki's dad still believes in his son and goes looking for a new job, but the new place turns out to be a black company, over 50 hours a week. Worn out from overwork, he loses focus while driving and causes a huge accident that kills himself and a teenage girl. The Ishii family gets branded as murderers, and Kazuki's mom is killed by one of the victim's relatives. Kazuki and Yuzuki have to move into a run-down apartment since the family owes a massive settlement to the accident victims. Kazuki has to drop out of school to work and support them. Yuzuki wants to drop out too, but Kazuki won't let her, he wants her to stay in school and chase her dreams. Except that backfires too, Yuzuki also gets labeled part of a "murderer family" and gets bullied at her own school. Worn out from part-time work and the pressure at school, she spaces out on her way home from her job, gets hit by a car crossing the street, and dies. Having lost his entire family with nothing left to live for, Kazuki decides to kill himself at his old high school, partly as a "revenge" statement to everyone there. Right before he jumps, he sees Hidaka Mikoto trying to stop him, but it's already too late.)

★ After realizing he's actually gone back in time to before all this tragedy happened, Kazuki breaks down crying in front of his parents. This time he's determined to protect his whole family and stay far away from Amada's whole romcom thing. He's hoping to at least sit far from Amada in class, but just like last time, they end up with the same seat arrangement.
Amada tries to be friendly and befriend him, but Kazuki wants nothing to do with him.

★ Tsukiyama Ouji is the best-looking guy in class, and on top of that he's the son of a big-shot businessman, so tons of girls want to get close to him. But just like before, he's actually into Hidaka Mikoto. Every move he makes to get her attention gets shut down with cold indifference. Same as last time, he invites the whole class to a get-together to bond with everyone. Kazuki's already got an excuse ready to skip it, hoping Amada and Hidaka get close faster so he doesn't get dragged into their romcom. His excuse is a part-time job interview, and when Amada asks where, Kazuki just vaguely says it's at a convenience store near his place without giving the exact location. Surprisingly, Hidaka also turns down Tsukiyama's invite, saying she's just not interested. Tsukiyama can't push it since she's so cold toward him. He asks Kazuki for his Line contact so he can send party pics so Kazuki won't feel left out. Kazuki thinks he's just being thoughtful, but really it's just an excuse to get Hidaka's contact through him, and even that gets shut down.

★ At the job interview at the convenience store near his house, Kazuki's shocked to see Hidaka there too. Turns out she's interviewing at the same place, even though she lives way far from there.

★ Kazuki assumes Hidaka's working there because of someone she likes. He figures she wants to be close to Kazuki since she sits near Amada in class. So he tells her to just confess to her crush since apparently that guy likes her back too. Turns out the person Hidaka likes is Kazuki himself. She confesses and asks him out. Kazuki does have feelings for her, but honestly it's mostly just because she's pretty, so he can't accept the confession yet. Hidaka doesn't give up though and keeps chasing after him. (Side note, Hidaka's been stalking Kazuki this whole time, she actually found a way into his room that day specifically to confess to him there.)

★ For a week Kazuki keeps his distance from Amada, but his romcom moves way faster than expected. Amada's already won over three heroines. Kanie Kokoro falls for him when the whole class goes to Tsukiyama's house, she can't fit in with everyone but Amada helps her make friends, which does her in. Ushimaki Fuuka, on the way home from the store where Kazuki works, he forgets something at school and sees her practicing running alone, joins her practice, helps her get past her slump, and that's how she falls for him. Iba Kouki, while studying alone in the library, runs into Amada, who helps sort out her problems, and that's how she falls for him too.

★★ Skipping ahead since this is already super long, straight to the main revenge arc

★ Iba Kouki is the heroine who framed Kazuki last time, so he's honestly kind of scared to even talk to her now.

★ Kazuki's standing in class keeps getting worse since he's the only one who won't befriend Amada. Amada's heroines and Tsukiyama start pressuring him to change his attitude already. Kazuki realizes the real mastermind behind his bad luck last time wasn't actually Iba, she was just doing it to solve Amada's "problem." It was Amada pulling the strings the whole time, getting the heroines to move against Kazuki. Since everyone keeps nagging him to make a friend, Kazuki finally agrees, but instead of walking to Amada, he goes to Hidaka's desk. Everyone expects her to flat-out reject him, but instead she smiles and accepts. The whole class, including Amada, is stunned, and this is where Kazuki's revenge really kicks off.

★ Kazuki starts his revenge with Tsukiyama Ouji, since it was because of him that Kazuki's dad got fired and ended up in that fatal accident. Tsukiyama's got a short fuse, so when he tries to force Kazuki to befriend Amada, he loses it and grabs him by the collar. The class, who used to admire how nice and good-looking Tsukiyama was, now looks at him with disappointment. On top of that, Kazuki shows everyone Tsukiyama's empty promise about sending party photos so he wouldn't feel left out, all just an excuse to get Hidaka's contact. That's the end of Tsukiyama's "leader" status right there.

★ Second target is Kanie Kokoro. During a seat change, tiny Kanie claims she can't see the board from the back and asks to sit near Kazuki. She tries to get close to him, which makes the guys in class jealous he's the only one talking to a girl. Kazuki explains it's just a misunderstanding and asks them to step in whenever a girl besides Hidaka talks to him. When Kanie tries to invite him to eat lunch together, a bunch of guys barge into the conversation wanting in too. Kazuki turns her down, and since Kanie's too shy to say no, she ends up stuck eating with all those guys instead. This makes the girls in class turn on her, thinking she's secretly just flirting while acting all weak and innocent.

★ Third target is Ushimaki Fuuka. Leaving class, Kazuki gets cornered by her, she blames him for putting Kanie in that awkward spot surrounded by guys. He explains those guys were just helping clear up the misunderstanding about him only talking to girls. Ushimaki backs off since she realizes that wasn't really his fault. Turns out she was against Iba's plan from the start, she only went along with it for Amada's sake. After this, she and Iba get into a fight, and Ushimaki stops going after Amada.

★ The next target is the one Kazuki fears most, the girl who caused all the horrible stuff that happened to him last time, Iba Kouki. Together with Hidaka, who's basically a pro stalker at this point, they follow Amada to the gym. Iba's crying because her plan failed and she just had a fight with Ushimaki right in front of Amada, so he hugs her to comfort her. The plan was for Kazuki to "catch" them mid-hug, but Hidaka tells him to hide and goes to catch them herself instead. Amada, caught being all lovey-dovey with another girl right in front of the girl he actually likes, tries to explain it's just a misunderstanding. That comment ends up hurting Iba, and after that she stops chasing him too.

★ Just when it seems like everything's settled since none of the heroines are into Amada anymore, he suddenly stands up in front of the class and accuses Kazuki of blackmailing Ushimaki, the exact same accusation as before, except this time it's Ushimaki instead of Iba. Kazuki tries to deny it, and when they check his phone in his bag, sure enough it's loaded with nude photos of Ushimaki.
But this time Kazuki already knows Amada won't just give up after losing a heroine, so he's prepped a counter for this exact situation. The phone he hands over to Amada isn't actually his, it's Tsukiyama's, since Kazuki and Tsukiyama have gotten closer and agreed to swap bags at school that day. Kazuki then pulls out his real phone, not a single photo of Ushimaki on it.
Cornered, Amada tries to claim he had no idea what was really going on. Kazuki doesn't let it go, he calls out Amada's whole pattern, always asking others for help but acting completely uninvolved the second things go wrong. This leaves the heroines who sacrificed so much for him pale-faced and done believing in him. Amada even tries to get violent with Hidaka for exposing what he's been like since childhood in front of everyone, but Tsukiyama stops him in time. After that day, Amada stops coming to school, and his heroines end up getting shunned by their friends too.

Anyway, the MC does end up helping fix things for Amada's heroines later on. The class rep gets asked to help Kanie out, Tsukiyama gets close to Iba, and by pretending to corner Ushimaki in front of everyone, he gets her to apologize in tears, and one of the guys in class ends up helping her out.

★ A little bit of Hidaka Mikoto's backstory
She's the product of her dad's affair. At home she's raised by her stepmom and never gets any real love or attention. While playing at the park one day she meets Amada, but doesn't like him because his eyes are cold, just like her dad's. Then she meets Kazuki and Yuzuki, and Kazuki's kindness fills that lonely hole in her heart, that's when she falls for him. Amada, jealous seeing her getting close to someone else, snatches the bracelet Kazuki gave her. Hidaka tries to hold onto it and refuses to let go, but Amada punches her in the face hard enough to knock a tooth loose and rips the bracelet away by force. After that, Hidaka's terrified of him and ends up hating him. But Amada, convinced he's some kind of romcom protagonist, doesn't think it's a big deal and is sure she'll fall for him once they get to high school anyway.

You know Nukumizu? Ball, anyways the one who shocked me the most was Amada with the
"weird, wasn't she supposed to be the main heroine?" After hidaka kills herself

I wanted to shoot this guy all chapter long. He ended up doing it himself in the foot. Now, where will I redirect this ludicrous and unecessary need for violence toward a non existant fictional character?

your spoiler kinda makes me think of 2 other ones, one is the "ntr manga" series where mc gets isekai'd into the villain of an ntr school romcom and turns the entire story on its head by exposing the true mc for being a manipulative monster, and the other is a manhwa that I've never actually read because I've been spoiled that the entire first season of the series is mc getting ntr'd by every girl he knows, but season 2 starts a revenge story where he basically becomes a wannabe jinwoo sung and takes back everyone of those girls directly from the guys who stole them

Oh Lord I remember something similar. Dude gets isekai'd into being the NTR villain of a romcom game and turns the whole thing on its head by being a decent human being. That makes the FMC fall for him despite his best efforts, with the "actual" protagonist becoming increasingly clingy and incel-like. It was an adaptation of an LN (I think), and if I'm recalling correctly the MC manages to set things straight with protag before things get out of hand, helping protag move on and he n' the MC becoming friends.

I think he ends up in an oyakodon relationship with the FMC and her mother, because NTR villain had a prior fling with the mother and MC kept running into and being nice to her after getting isekai'd. So mother and daughter both fall for him hard and opt to share, I think?

theres only so much mental deficiency a protagonist can have, cmon bro
We're talking about someone who suffered the trauma of losing his entire family one by one on top of school and societal bullying, and then attempted- or succeeded, depending on how you view it- suicide. He recalls no signs of the FMC showing any interest in him in the original timeline and is, right now, in full-on survival mode attempting to avoid what led to his family's death.

Add on the typical "top beauty of the whole school compared to random nobody", and it's entirely reasonable for him to miss the signs and misunderstand the situation.

Meh... it's pretty much your usual, template, bog standard plot.
There are a few twists here and there but it's still pretty formulaic.

Thanks for the spoiler; I can't wait for the protagonist to smash that fake guy's face in. Please bring us the spoiler when that happens., However,From what I've heard about the upcoming volumes. what followed was worse than any beating; for a megalomaniacal sociopath like Teruhito Amada, losing the role of protagonist is worse than death. He completely loses control of his "romantic comedy plot" and finds himself neutralized and sidelined in the story. Aware of all his cruel intentions from the first timeline, Kazuki Ishii actively works to ensure that Amada does not regain his power of manipulation., and that is much more satisfying👍🏻😁,
Amada is a real piece of shit for what i see

Honestly, FL has my respect.
She's making her moves right from the start and she's direct. No games, no Tsundere nonsense, just directly asking him out.

Not reading the spoilers, for once, want to see this unfold naturally.

I have read romcoms like this a million times already. But have I read them a million and one times? No, not yet. So I'll keep reading this one with great interest.
