I feel like the mediocre translations are probably holding this series back, though I don't think it's particularly great even then. Needed more time to digest, and the whole shota thing is zzzz. Pacing makes a big difference in a series.

The gap between chapters is so big I completely forgot what the story was about, at least it ended!

It was amazing at the beginning, but it starts to decline due to adding more and more questions and loose ends without giving actual answers and resolution. The feeling at the end was like the mangaka wanted to be "deep" by bringing in a bunch of issues and things, but not actually knowing what they are doing with these issues and things. It's just vomiting out stuff without having answers. Basically a strategy to make things more complex so that the reader can do the author's work in coming up with the explanations and resolution. Lazy writing.

Overall though, it was an enjoyable read. Just lots of wasted potential with what feels like cohesive storytelling was given up more and more with each passing chapter.
