From lovely Wenne to a stronk, independent wymyn who previously imprisoned him because he is....the only man left in the region, one whom she found to have killed bandits and just saved an old woman?
Authors try too hard to push the "variety" aspect of harems and end up filling them with low-tier women no man with taste would have any business coming near. If I were in Ark's shoes, I'd have let the super-duper shorthair dig herself out of that mess alone; at the very least, I'd have taken Wenne with me, since I'd have nothing more than human-level fighting ability otherwise.
Of course, even if the woman did what she did, the effect of that blood is enthrallment, which takes it right back to the inclusion of such an undesirable woman in the harem. Who would want a woman that could pass for a man?
