@Tamerlane I'm not exactly sure what your point is there. "Aphrodisiacs" like oysters and chocolates are totally divorced from the manga kind.
My point basically was that manga aphrodisiacs are a kind of wish fulfilment magical plot devices. Frankly, in manga they are generally used in a totally immoral manner and in a similar way date rape drugs are used in real life. What makes it even more disturbing is that due to their depicted manner of action, they are used to give an illusion of consent in most manga they show up in.
Hypnotism/hypnotism gadgets are used as basically the same thing in a different form and suffer from much the same issues. And again the depiction of hypnotism is totally divorced to how it functions in real life.
And yes, I've seen a good bit of hentai, how did you guess?
Anyway, I am glad the scene in this chapter broke the standard tropes.
