So Susanoo's gimmick is that he is the master of every sword stance, hence befitting the title of Sword God. That's neat. It's simple and effective.

Okita's gimmick compared to other swordsman is his speed and mobility. There's also the whole blood pumping thing but other than boosting the two traits, that's just flavor text.

I get that it's a manga but to have these nobodies represent humanity simply because they're Japanese is stupid. Genghis Khan, humanity's greater conqueror not being present is a disservice to basically all of humanity. Samuel Colt, progenitor of all modern firearms should also have been selected. I would replace Simo Hayha (as badass as he was) and Kintoki Sakata with those two.

Rather than all style, they seem to mean it as at the bare basic form, all stance originate from this simple stance, face your enemy, ready to strike, ready to counter.
He can move to any stance from there.

The problem with having too many swordsman, especially the "best" and being in one team is that it means that one of the members is inherently weaker than the other.

Okita is either stronger than Kojiro or weaker and in that case one of them shouldn't have been picked for the squad.

When you have the battle being "Humanities strongest" having two guys of the same weapon type just doesn't make sense.
