but at least everything is wrapping up pretty nicely
they didn't make up new enemies out of thin air just to extend the series, everything is about the Amalareiks from start to finish

Having some sort of effect that lets her slip into dreams (and affect reality in small ways, if I'm reading the chapter right) would be an interesting evolution of the heart powers- some aspect of the power splits off if the hero isn't able to fight anymore but also hasn't died.
