Taking measurements and using those numbers in combination to identify people is a really funny idea. It's kind of like making an identifying hash using biometric numerical data. In some ways, this might be what facial recognition software actually uses. I do not know how such programs actually work, but this sounds like a plausible avenue.

Lana feels like what happens when an autistic person just happens to have a special interest in something society expects them to be interested in.

Like her interest in fashion is pretty similar to Monica's interest in numbers, but they're perceived differently.

"Rich girl who likes fashion," is a thing people know of (and sometimes look down on) so Lana is seen as gauche and nouveau riche.

Meanwhile, "girl obsessed with numbers," isn't a known thing so Monica is seen as weird.
