I never said there was anything wrong with either. I said there is a tendency in within purely pole dancing communities to remove the associations of pole dancing from stripping in away that suggests stripping or sex work is unfavourable. Unlike the examples you’ve mentioned, archery, fencing etc, stripping and sex work is dehumanised as a profession with strippers and sex workers facing violence as a result of this. So what I said was concerned with the fact many pole dancers take part and profit from a sport that originated from strippers yet look down on them, it’s not really comparable to fencing since there’s a whole real life community whose livelihoods depend on it and who are subject to unnecessary violence, much of which is a direct result of the way they are portrayed, talked about, painted as etc (often by many non-sex work pole dancers) and my comment referred to me hoping the narrative in this manga doesn’t fall into those same pattern of shaming, whorephobia etc. You’re comparisons with other sports and their origins aren’t really relevant in that respect. Fencers don’t go around shaming military soldiers, military soldiers aren’t harmed by any social stigma around their profession.
