I can understand them being angry at her, but I would say she did the right choice not telling them. They’ve already expressed they were going to get rid of her because she didn’t look like them, so of course she would be abandoned asap if she revealed this. Even her brother couldn’t be trusted in hindsight as he was disgusted by her not revealing about his real sister. They’ve spent so much time together but this was enough to make him not consider her a sister anymore. So in hindsight keeping it a secret and doing her best to become a commoner during this time was the correct choice for her.

I do understand him being angry. But if I found out my brother wasn’t related by blood and he knew about it, I wouldn’t abandon him without talking to him. We still have grown up together our whole life so that is the least that should be done imo. Unless there had been some
malicious intent I would still consider that person family.

I think given time the brother may come to regret his reaction, but it's something I'd expect. He felt hurt and betrayed that the sister he has stood up for and defended for literal years knew the truth and kept up the charade while his real sister was hurting. On her side I can see her point as well, since her family has never shown the sort of love and acceptance that would make her consider that telling the truth would be helpful. Also, while she is 15 years old, it's been stated that she's legally an adult in society and has been for two years. So she's been lying to them her entire (short) adult life. They grew up together, he's known her since childhood, how is she supposed to be responsible for anything that happened? Yes, she knew about it but it should be obvious that a baby has no say in the matter, which means that she got the information only after it already happened. If one of my brothers suddenly revealed that he's not my real brother I'd try to figure out what happened but I wouldn't suddenly hate him. I like him because of the time spent together, not the shared DNA. And revealing such a secret, especially towards your own family is never easy. Especially if you can't be sure that they won't kick you out.

I mostly agree with you but I don’t fall too hard on the hating the mc side.

Mc knew she wasn’t the real daughter, she knew that her current family would throw her away (including her brother), and she even knew that her actual family probably wouldn’t accept her due to Annette being the best thing since sliced bread (she was the bread winner, she was her siblings other parent, and she was a literal saint) and no matter what Mc would be seen as a bad trade off (they don’t even have any previous bonds to even grasp).

This not to say that the mc was actually a bad person, she just didn’t want her life and every bond she’s ever had to be turned into a lie (even though they were and would happen regardless), what’s worse is when she tried to learn independent skills she got even closer to those around her this making it even harder to say anything.

What I see happening is Annette will use her new family to support her old family thus they are forever grateful to Annette and start living a decent life, Mc is denied by both families (old because she’s a fake and lied about it, new because mc could have helped them and Annette earlier), Mc disappears as she has nothing left for her, Annette get betrothed to Mcs ex fiancé but the fiancé still loves the Mc and goes looking for her, and maybe Annette is sad because she technically took both of the Mc’s families.
